18th February 2013 – London, UK – avsnet, the leading Unified Business Communications, Network and Collaboration integrator has today announced the acquisition of northern based Network & Unified Communications specialists Besttel.
avsnet chairman and industry veteran Mike Mason explained, “We’re thrilled to welcome Besttel’s skillsets into our portfolio. As a company we have an excellent heritage in collaborative video conferencing and network centric unified communications and, with Besttel joining us, we can further augment these skills with Besttel’s strengths in network, datacentre, virtualisation, security and wireless. We really get the sensitivity of multi-media applications traversing the network, so application performance management is absolutely key to our successful deployments.
Users suffering poor experiences from collaborative tools simply do not adopt them into their working day and hence the business never gets the inherent benefits of cost reduction and productivity. We help companies tie together their communications tools, giving users ubiquitous architectures allowing busy and highly mobile employees the choice to connect, communicate and collaborate with colleagues, suppliers and customers exactly how they wish, regardless of the device they have or the network connectivity available to them. Besttel’s strengths allow us to take the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) trend one step further in allowing users the choice of instant messaging, presence, audio, video and web conferencing tools on mobiles, tablets, PC’s, laptops and room based telepresence and video conferencing suites.”
Graham Fry, managing director of avsnet, gave his point of view, “We’re all really excited for Besttel to join the avsnet team. Our combined skills really are complimentary and our geography will allow both companies to support all of our customers in the north and south. It will be great to be working with Paul Cobley and his extended team as myself, Mike Mason and Justin Anderson (Commercial Director) have all worked with Paul and his extended team in the past and know what attributes they will bring to us and our customers. We have a clear vision in what we are delivering to the market and we’re all really looking forward to Paul’s team further adding their technical expertise to the robust integration and support offerings we have.”
avsnet is accredited with both Polycom and Cisco unified communications and video conferencing solutions whilst Besttel holds specialisations with Cisco Data Centre, Wireless and Ironport security along with VMWare, NetApps and Veeam.
Fry concluded, “This really does represent good news to our customers in the breadth of services we can offer and further adds to the depth of skills and capabilities we have in integration, project management and in life care and support. We pride ourselves in our abilities to deliver complex, full lifecycle projects from consultancy, through proof of concept, staging, installation, configuration and support on time, in budget, whilst exceeding customer expectations. We have experienced extraordinary growth over the past 4 years at 40% YOY and I can see this acquisition boosting our aggressive growth aspirations even further.”
