avsnet’s Managing Director, Graham Fry, met up with Comms Business’ editor Ian Hunter to discuss the convergence market, the company’s future plans and its ever-expanding partnerships, in particular AVC One.
Graham began the interview by reflecting on the changes he’s witnessed in the market the last few years and focused on how 2010 was a pivotal year in terms of the channel. “Many telecoms based resellers were getting engaged in our market successfully selling AV and UC applications” he said, “so we had to respond to this challenge – which we did by diversifying ourselves.”
He continued, “Video conferencing has been a catalyst for a lot of change,” and then explored how avsnet has adapted around it, and more recently, general IT collaboration and network solutions.
Many users buy into the concept of certain technology, but do not always maximise their investment. Where avsnet stands clear of competitors is with its intention of making the ‘end-user experience’ as simple and easy as possible.
Further into the interview, Graham also addressed the need for successful partnerships, in particular with AVC One. He then concluded with future growth plans and the direction the company is heading, “We have a lot of complementary skills to offer partners in the areas of audio visual, unified communications, networking and telephony – in fact a complete portfolio.”
